This is so gorgeous!! I love that style of skirt, but I've never tried one myself. How exactly is the gathering done? I suppose what I really should do is go out and find a pattern and figure it out Tongue

I think this is gorgeous dress! It must feel great to know you made it yourself. Iv'e always wanted to try something with pickups! Are the pickups attatched to a lining underneath it?

wow thanks guys for all your lovely comments Smiley
and to answer about the pick ups i used http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/pick-up-skirt-technique to get me started, but i didnt use lining, instead i took the fabric, folded it so the fold line would be on the bottom and attached the pickups to the part of the fabric that was folded underneath. (i hope that made sense...)
