Krafty with a K
« on: May 29, 2010 10:27:27 PM »

It has been a long time since my last post. This is my fifth baby quilt that I have made, I think I am getting better and my new Brother sewing machine makes a big difference.
This quilt is for my boyfriends best mate's first baby.
The theme was white and silver but was unable to find fun fabrics to use.
So therefore went crazy with colour.
Luckily she loved it and was a hit at the baby shower. Hope you like it as well
K.

Thanks for looking  Smiley

That is really gorgeous - I love the bright colors and the alphabet applique!  I can tell a ton of work went into it!

What fabric did you use for the applique?  Was it a fleece to prevent fraying? And you blanket stitched the edges of all of them? Wow!  Fun and colorful - amazing work!

I experimented with using white felt, that had a medium thickness. Really easy to sew, wont fray, bit stiff and it didnt shrink in the wash. And the blanket stich was all done by machine  Smiley

I love personal swaps, I currently need art (paintings or something to hang on a wall) but I'd be up for anything.
