Back to carving…….Another round of handmade rubber stamps!
Rubber stamps can be made of carving rubber (can be purchased online) or from erasers (you’ll need a new one of good quality).
For this swap we’ll be in groups of 3-6 participants and you’ll be making one stamp for each person in your group. You’ll have 4 weeks for designing/carving, but of course you can send out as soon as you’re ready.

Oh man!! I can't carve stamps at all, but love em soooo much!! We need to have a swap where we trade something else I can make for a stamp in return....

You should try! It's not actually that difficult once you get the hang of it.
I think at some point, though, we should just have a general stamp swap, which would include rubber stamps, foam stamps, wood stamps, cork stamps, or any other type of stamp that you can make. I'd like to see the variety everyone would come up with.

Can't wait until we get partners for this one, though!

I just started carving for the first time today, with nothing but some erasers and an Xacto knife set =X i really hate carving with an Xacto its difficult, so i look forward to ordering some gouge probably this week =] If i get comfortable enough in time before this swap sign up ends then i shall join =]
I tend to be good at new things i pick up! so im confident. My first stamp so far turned out good for a first try and no proper gouges!

Right now im not confident enough in my skill 
I cant order my gouges and rubber offline until june 3rd (had to transfer money to paypal, waiting for it to clear)

I did do a really great job on my first stamp with only Xacto knives, it was hard as hell too =S i bet it would be easier with gouges, i cant wait to get them.

I think i will sign up before the sinup period ends =] hopefully there is room left for me then.
I am in 2 swaps now, only 1 i have to hand craft somethings for =] So i should be ok, and those ones end at the end of June, But i always send really early! so i should be good to join you guys!

QUESTIONS:
In this swap if we correspond with our partner can we send supplies in substitue for stamps? or would we just do them as extras? like say i wanted some big erasers from my partner and offered to make an extra stamp for them?

I guess that they would be extras.  Talk with your partner, and see.  Sometimes we carvers have a lot of stuff on hand, but sometimes we don't!

Would love it if one of my partners had the "Eraser for really big mistakes" ;] at their local dollar store, i checked and mine doesnt =[ sucks.
I guess if u do use the really big eraser its best to use the hot pink one and not the regular color pink giant eraser, i guess its gritty and difficult to work with and it crumbles to hell!
