The gourds sound like they were awesome. Sad

But I bet the next ones you make will be even better!

The gourds sound like they were awesome. Sad

they sure do!  so sad we can't see them  Undecided

on a happy note, i am finally posting pictures of my beautious package of goodies from pinklrt.
i received a few days ago, but had a really busy weekend and didn't get a chance to take pictures.  i apologize for the sort of drab-ish pictures; it was hazy all day today but i figured i've slacked on posting photos long enough.

first in the package i found this adorably pretty little purse.
it's so well made and i love the color combo and fabric pattern!  it's lined inside and even has a pocket!  yay for pockets!   Smiley

and my favorite part - this gibbous inspired tank!
it is so wonderful and gorgeous.  it's so absolutely perfect.  i will regale you with many photos.

this shirt is amazing; it's got frilly stuff and lace and flowers and pearls and a chain with a skeleton key....ahhhh....i just love it

(froofy stuff)

(lace along the bottom)

(flowers and pearls)

(chain and key)

pinklrt even sewed small loops of ribbon hidden under the snap-off flowers, and put clasps on the chain so that all the little extra pieces can be removed before washing.  BRILLIANT!!!!!

check it out

and inside the purse were a bunch of extra fabric flowers of varying sizes in cream and grey, with pin backs on them (i forgot to take pics of these though)

i love love love this stuff more than i can say.
pinklrt, you got some dope ass crafting skills, yo!   Cool

<3  thank you pinklrt!!!  <3

I really love that tank top!  Nice work - gibbous-inspired clothes are really hard to pull off!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

I love both the bag and the top! The fabrics on the bag are so nice and it looks really well made. Beautiful! The tank is really really fantastic. It looks so great on you, sugaree! I love all of the details.

I just love the colors of the fabric on that bag. And it's PLEATED! Pleats totally intimidate me. And the gibbous tank is amazing. I doubt I could pull it off, but it is really beautiful. It would be fun to wear for a night on the town!

sugaree - I'm so glad you liked your package! And the tank looks supercute on you! I know I mentioned it like 1,000 times already, but I'm glad that you inspired me to craft outside my comfort zone.

Thanks for all of the crafty love, I was heavily inspired by two different tanks/tees on sugaree's wists and hope that I succeeded in making something that was gibbous-inspired without being too fussy.

Pleated bag pattern is the Buttercup Bag. Pattern available for free here: http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html  It is an easy pattern that requires a small amount of fabric.

I have a picture of the extra flowers - these were so easy and fun to make. I kind of want to make a dozen of them and pin them onto every plain thing I own.

Boo for flakers! I'm bummed to miss out on the awesome gourds.

I've been slack on commenting on all of the fabulous geezerly projects for this swap, but I've been stalking the gallery faithfully and have been so impressed by the talent in this bunch.
