I got this idea and website from another Crafster, but I can't seem to find the post. If I find it, I will give credit. I went to
http://www.needlecrafter.com/
and got a bunch of free patterns and used an iron-on transfer pen to put the images onto the fabric. They have a lot of cool pictures (deco, arts and crafts, old-fashioned) at the site as well as some ideas for what to do with them. I'm already on to the next one.

i love your pin up girl. So i went over to that site, to check out the patterns. I found under the Days of the Week section a neat bonnet sue, wednesday sew. Until i looked closer, and realized that she's not sewing, she's knitting!! LOL! Just wanted to say.

FancyShmancy-
It started out that I was going to make a sort of boudior pillow out of it, but I don't think my husband would let me put that on the bed (he likes more dark, graphic things-and it's way too girly). I think instead I'm going to frame it and start a series of them that I'll hang in my daughter's bathroom.
Pink Kittie-
I hadn't seen that one yet. I still haven't seen all the patterns they have, but most of them are really cool. I'm working on one now that's a neat little tree in a field of flowers.

Oh I've really wanted to do that series of pinup girls, I just haven't figured out what I want to put the patterns on.
You did a really good job with the embroidery though, I love the detail you put into the cushions, very cute

No that doesn't look like lipstick to me.
I'd change that to something else. But otherwise it's really cute.

Nope, doesn't look like lipstick to me either. I guess you could change it to like a blush brush or something like that (since the other girls are holding a mirror and a hair brush). Or even a mascara wand maybe.

I would totally leave it the way it is. 'cause then people would be taken by surprise and they would wonder about it and then you could be like how do you like the pillow I embroidered of a pin-up holding lipstick and then there would be awkward silence and then you could laugh silently and they still wouldn't know if you knew. brilliant.

that's such a cute idea to put a series of those in your little girl's bathroom!
i think i'll actually do that for MY bathroom! it's simply SCREAMS burlesque grandma! i wonder if i can somehow figure out how to make one of those tissue box covers with the yarn woven through the plastic things and weave something dirty and girly into it!
...i know my boyfriend would LOVE that! heheheh.

This is so funny, every time we see this pin up girl on the site, someone posts the lipstick one and we all discuss how it doesn't look like a lipstick. Someone (a while back) had changed the lipstick to a penis and embroidered it on a pair of panties!
And also bizarre, this same pattern has always been a pink outfit, black shoes, and brown hair... !!!! These 50s vogart girls are my favorite embroidery pattern pin ups. They are nice enough for display for anyone's eyes, but still sexy.

That is weird about the colors, but I think they're logical choices. I used floss that I had left over, and some of it was even from the stich-it kit. Hmmm.....maybe I'll try a red head for the next one......

nicely done, I actually own the original of this pattern, and theres 8 girls in total, 4 in lingerie and 4 in long dresses. I did these girls in embroidery and applique and god knows where they are. My granny who bought the pattern in the 40s i think... said that she never thought it was a lipstick either lmfao.

you know, i'm so naive
when i first saw it, i immediately saw "lipstick." not a dildo. but now i see a big neon dildo...larger than life itself.

Hahah! I have the same problem!! The lipstick is too big and...well... it just looks weird. I still want it to be a lipstick so I'm gonna try to make it smaller. I don't want to give the wrong message if you know what I mean. lol

Queen of fools, that looks amazing! Great job.
I just bought a dover book of naughty french designs. Some of them are so naughty, I can't wait to stitch some....most of my items end up being baby onesies though, so methinks there might be a conflict of interests!

I saw the some of the onesies that you did (they were fantastic, by the way). I can't tell from the Amazon site how naughty they are (I can just see the nudy ones on the cover), but I'm intrigued. I got a book in that series with the cd-rom of egyptian images at a used bookstore for 3 bucks and I love it. I'm now thinking about shelling out full price for this one. Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the compliment Queen-I've uploaded a few of my favorites so you can see them. My library also has some of the Dover Series, which you can borrow and then copy the cdrom for nothing. But I think I have bought about ten of them anyway...I'm a bit of a hoarder.
These are kind of small, I didn't save the larger tif files to my hard drive and I am too lazy to walk downstairs and get the book.
Anyway, they should give you an idea-some are so random and bizarre. I think the last one would be great for a t-shirt.
