ok I think this looks great.
BUT could someone explain the meaning behind it to a poor non understanding Aussie?

it means "too long, didn't read".
there's an explanation on my blog if you're interested: http://penelopewaits.com/penny/?p=99

I love this!  I want to make it and send it to my mom in response to all her long emails.  Of course I would also have to explain it to her.

(I kid, I kid.  I really love my mom and read all her emails!  I totally didn't send her a cross stitch that said "bite me" as a joke a few weeks ago!)

I love the simple design of the deer, and I am writing to inform you that I will snatch that design for a series of Assisi embroidered pieces I want to do.

I am absolutely blaming my new found cross stitch addiction on you! That deer was so adorable I was motivated to run out to the craft store last night and get the necessary supplies and am already half done with the piece. I'll post pics when completed so you can see how inspiring you've been for me. Thank you!!
