I wasn't sure where to post this so it's here, in the miscellaneous folder.
It was my little girls 1st birthday today and i made her this simple but pretty cake

It's carrot cake underneath.
She seemed to enjoy it, though most of it ended up all over her face, hands and the floor.
Here's apic of the birthday girl on her new trike

Very pretty cake! Did you use fondant for the icing? Your little girl is precious!  Cheesy

Just one silly question though: why are there 3 candles?  Wink

yep, it's fondant icing coloured with pink food colouring.
There are 3 candles because 1 looked lonely!  3 looked better and were more sparkly for her to look at!

I just rolled some left over fondant icing into balss and squashed them flat, then stuck them onto the cake with a dab of sugar syrup.

I've never seen a birthday cake with fondant icing.  Only wedding cakes.  People should use it all of the time because it looks a lot more interesting.  Smiley
