Ok I'm really really new to knitting but apprently I just got a smoakin' good deal. I picked up 5 balls of cute and fuzzy mohair yarn for $2 (same dye lot, and brand) unfortunatly they are white. Like SNOW white, white.

So, I've read all the 15 pages or so on koolaid dying, and seen a few things that seem to be mohair and Koolaid dyed on here (I love craftster) but could somebody that's actually koolaid dyed some mohair  give me some pointers? Please!
It's so fine and fuzzy,  I just don't want to wreak it even it if was dirt cheap  Huh

Thanks Smiley

I would think it would work great (I'm jealous, I love both mohair and kool aid dying.) I think you would just have to be extra carefull not to agitate it and felt the fibers, since they're so long and fuzzy.

The key to making the color stay in is heat. Pour the Kool-aid on the yarn in a microwave-safe container, nuke it for a minute or two and you'll notice when you're done that the water will be clear, which means the yarn has soaked the color all up. To avoid ruining the yarn, just make sure there is no aggitation along with heat, so let it sit without touching it until it has completely cooled. Some people say add vinegar to set the color, some people say you don't need it. I personally have never seen a difference between when i use it and when i don't.
