Details of swap:
So our fellow Craftster Cleanfeelin  was going through some of the recent swap galleries and was inspired to do a swap with T-Shirts.  and her idea is  doing a swap where the only materials you could use would be t-shirts (besides threads, accent pieces, etc) to create something new.  The new item could be anything from a bag, belt, rug, or even a new reconstructed T-shirt.

This is a really cool idea because its recycling, the materials are cheap (thrift stores, goodwill, your own closet), and you don't need to be an expert sewer to be in this swap (a lot of things don't need to be sewn).

This swap is for every T-shirt reconners of the world so it would be great if everyone was willing to send to different countries, and you must be willing to send airmail if sending internationally!!!! Sending should take no longer than 3 weeks !!( Because who really likes waiting for awesomeness)

FLAKERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED  Angry IF YOU FEEL YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO 100% COMMIT TO YOUR PARTNER THAN THIS SWAP IS NOT FOR YOU.....

This will be a 5 point swap. Below are guidelines to help you out but as always discuss with your partner to make sure you are both happy! Everyone must make one Reconstructed t-shirt large or one medium item !! small and extra's can be something other than made from t-shirt material..

By Time
Big = 3 or more hours
Medium = 2 or more hours
Little = 2 or less hours

By Size
Big = A sundress, a shirt, a skirt, , a purse
Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

By Price
Big = $30 or more
Medium = $10-$30 dollars
Small = $10 or less

So if this sounds like the swap for you come on and fill in your Questionair and lets go....

i'm interested... not that great at sewing pieces into actual garments yet... so far i do more appliqu than anything else.
could you guys have a look at this t-shirt recycling project of mine and tell me what size of project something like that would be?  medium or large?

ETA:  oh, and also, i'm curious if this kind of t-shirt decoration is something people would like to make or receive?   i would not mind at all if someone copied my 'technique' - it's not original or anything...

i would say that shirt is is a medium, i think it would be darn hard to find a shirt that was a large size project but i love that shirt and the other one if it related to me more, you do awesome work!

i think if a person altered the fabric of some Tshirts (dye or printing or something) and then reconstructed the shirts into another shirt and then decorated it even more, maybe that could be a large.

i have to keep in mind that there are possibilities in this swap of also making other things out of Tshirts.  i keep forgetting that part.  i've seen Tshirts made into very fun dresses and scarves and bags (i've even made a tote that was approximately half out of t-shirts, and pillows/stuffies entirely out of them) and things like that...  and there must be more house things you could make.  i know i have seen rugs made of Tshirts.

I'm so in for this. I have a major obsession with reusing tshirts (I inherited 300+ of the same ugly tshirt from a church band that went under because I'm the only person willing to find a use for all parts of them). I've been working on a big huge latch hooked tshirt scraps rug. I wouldn't make a BIG one because there is no craftster size for that (I'm 30 hours into mine and still a little less than halfway done), but I would make a little kitchen sink or bathroom rug latch hooked if someone wants one. Plus I crochet tshirt rugs all. the. time. (Which as a large I would be willing to make fairly big...) There are seriously oodles of possibilities for this!

Also, Tease is a really great tshirt book (I don't know if anyone else has it but I love that thing).
