I received, I received! The wonderful Thanate sent me the coolest box of goodies! It actually got her yesterday but I haven't had a chance to get pics and get onto Craftster until today. My work seems to think I should live there 24-7 rather than reveling in crafty goodness. Silly people.
Ready to see some wonderful randomness in action? Here are my goodies (I am feeling very spoiled)
Seuss Stuffies! Perfect for our son's Seuss theme'd nursery. I love, love, love them. The Lorax is cuteness itself but take a close look at that Truffula Tree - there's a Oncler hiding in there and he's knitting a thneed! Awesome beyond words. These two are going to have pride of place in the nursery.
I can't believe it never occurred to me to make a home-made felt board. Genius! This is both art and a toy for later. The felt characters come off the board and store in a handy pocket on the back. The fish and signs are all from One Fish, Two Fish and McElligot's Pool. They are so well done and cute. I want to play with this so I know my daughter and son (when he's beyond the shoving googly eyes in his mouth period) will both love this. So cool.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a Harry Potter fanatic. I run a meetup group, I attend the conventions, I make lots and lots of HP-centric crafts. So how utterly perfect is this t-shirt? It's inspired by one on my wist and so cute. The tee is big enough that I can wear it now, when I'm six months pregnant, but not so huge that I won't be happily wearing it after the baby is here as well. The Tee says "Make Crafts, Not Horcruxes" and is done in a cool chain stitch with a embroidered needle accent. Even better, the lettering is black & yellow in a subtle homage to my chosen house: Hufflepuff. Eeeee!
A small Thing 1 figure and two really cute little metal creatures: a badger (symbol of Hufflepuff house and thus playing into my Potter obsession) and a hedgehog. We own three hedgies so I have a weakness for all things depicting the cute, prickly little creatures.
Finally, knowing I'm insanely addicted to books, Thanate sent me one she really likes and some cool paper blocks for making a castle for my daughter to play with. I'm not sure I've quite figured out the blocks but I have no doubt my daughter will figue it out before I do!
Thank you Thanate for a wonderful swap and lots of cool randomness. I love everything!
