I am seriously in awe of your design skills. Those are all so beautifully drawn and laid out, on top of being tremendously intricate! Do you start from scratch or do you have an image that you work off of when designing them?

It's a mixture - The dreidels are based on antique silver filigree dreidels that I saw and fell in love with in a Sotheby's (auction house) catalog - I LOVE antique judaica, and I like the look of antique judaica being depicted in such a traditional art form, it feels appropriate.
The menorahs were from my head, but they're two very standard types of chanukiah, nothing innovative there.
The oil lamp I drew from a clay lamp that I thought was beautiful, though I changed the design on the side a bit.
Sometimes I base my papercuts on actual objects, other times I make them up from various elements of Jewish iconography I'm familiar with. I guess I like the traditional look that it gives when you work with traditional motifs and antique ritual objects. Though, recently I've been branching out - I hope to post more stuff soon
HSG - thanks for letting me know! It does sound like the blades I've got are substandard - I also had never had a problem until I used this brand. I'm hoping that soon my brother's package will arrive with my good old reliable swann mortons
Tanath - thank you, that's really kind of you! I tried Hobby and a couple other places, but not much luck - they wanted to sell me kits with the handle and everything, and just a few blades.
