The confetti bag is like an I SPY for adults!  Love the textures and the color! It looks similar to the many gibbous things I have been seeing lately...you are going to be styling beeker! Lovely job, lovesclutter!

I am also unfamiliar with DiscWorld, but I love the turtle and the needlefelted world!  What a clever thing to convert from crochet to felt--dharma_rebel--you obviously paid attention to your partner's wants! I, too, was impressed with the hexagons--so neat and the pattern is perfect...

Yay for awesome goodies!  I love seeing such variety and fun so early in the morning! Cheesy

oooh--You are so right!  I was trying to find my crazy quilt book after seeing it because I also wanted to know how it is done!  I love colorful and random items but I have enough quilts--- a purse would be awesome!

ha ha living in a place with cold winters means lots of quilts for friends and family when they come over to the house...and somehow, they seem to walk away...so you are right---no such thing as too many quilts! Wink

Wow- that confetti bag is like a little art quilt- how did you do that lovesclutter?

Thanks thisbirdsabsurd.

I chose a heavy base fabric, and love this one, more of a teal color.

Spent a few hours gathering confetti. I used string, floss, yarn, sequins, rick rack, silk flowers and other bits and bobs. I cut them to various lengths.

I cut out two squares of fabric and 2 of plastic the same size.

(edit, actually this plastic/vinyl is what your comforter set comes wrapped in). I have found a great source of non typical fabrics and materials just a block or two away. They sell foam and boat vinyl and other goodies very reasonable.)

Using a glue stick to lightly secure the larger pieces I placed the items on the base. Carefully, placed them on an album cover (Three Dog Night) and took to the sewing machine. Went around the edges and then horizontal lines in a contrasting thread.

Repeat for other side.

Sew on seam folded over for the top side.

Place plastic sides together and sew along 3 edges. I double seamed the bottom.

Clip a close as possible and turn, not easy.

Hot glue on the inside some lace trim to cover the seam.

Attach a handle, I love this cord.

I wanted to use a large pink button at the top, and couldn't find it. Found it today.

This bag needs accessories, I thought a wallet, so if I can figure out how to do a lipstick holder and cell phone holder I will mail them out to Beeker.

I felt bad all I got was the bag, but I had been so sick all the craft time. Did find out mostly I'm good now.

Oh, it's ok to sew all of this, use a very heavy weight needle, go slow, help pull the layers through. There are some odd shaped sequins in there and some glitter, just copper, couldn't find the silver. Found that today too.

I could use some ideas for a party bag accessory. I never get out much.

I had no idea that it was also covered in vinyl!  Thanks--I think my nieces might appreciate something like this as makeup bags and the vinyl makes it even better since it protects the confetti!

And, you are awesome for loving Three Dog Night...Wink
