 What stitch do I use to stop jersey from puckering? I don't have a serger. I'm making a maxi dress and the skirt puckered. I have a basic singer

Use a zig zag.  You may have to adjust the stitch tension and length, but a regular zig zag always works for me.

Also, stretch the jersey taut every so slightly while you are sewing, that should help too.

Also also, make sure you're using a ballpoint needle. Took me a few tries to figure that one out.
