so i was browsing ravelry one day and i came across this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rocket-ship-2 pattern. well, my 2 1/2 year old happened to be looking over my shoulder and immediately said he wanted one. so for weeks after he kept asking "you making me a rocketship?" i finally got around to it! and i got it finished, with a couple slight modifications. first of all, the pictures are really cruddy, i had to take them with my phone since my camera bit the dust.

the ship
a closeup of the spaceman
and his little backpack thinger. see, this was the 2nd spaceman i made. ds lost the first one. 'cause, you know, it wasn't attached to the rocketship and he's 2 1/2. so this time around, i made him the backpack, and then attached yarn coming out of it to the rocket. for air. you know, like the 'umbilical cord' actual astronauts use.

thanks for looking!!! Cheesy

This is cute! And I know what you mean about losing the little spaceman, my dd loses all the little bits all the time that go along with bigger stuff. I think the attachment is very cool though, definately looks like the air house.

Awesome!!  I came across this pattern not too long ago also and saved it to my computer. I am decorating my ds's room in an Outer Space theme and I knew he would love a knitted rocket ship he could really "launch" (throw) and I wont have to pick up pieces of broken toy. Excellent job, love the little guy and his air tube.... excellent idea!!

... so many ideas ... so little time ... We are about to MOVE!! (crafting for my family's new crib)
