When my boyfriend invited me to go with him to his sister's wedding this month, I knew that I wanted to make a dress especially for this occasion!! Another thing was for sure: I wanted to dye my dress to fit the ombre trend that's been going around lately.
After fabric shopping for hours and hours with two of my best GUY friends (they put up with it very well, sorry boys!), I came out with some really awesome fabric and some Dylon....the only problem.....was that the fabric was 100% polyester and Dylon works better with natural fibers like cotton and silk

.
THANK GOD FOR iDYEpoly!!!!

After an hour of hovering over a boiling dye bath, I got the results I wanted.

The pictures were taken in my backyard with a timer and a looot of patience

Are the shoes uber cute or what??? ^__^ Got them at Baker's!

Here's a picture just to show how low the back goes. Ugh, deformed left calve much??
I also took shots of the fabric before I started sewing it.
Here it is, all dry and laid out flat!

I'm seriously super-proud of this!!!
This was the source of my inspiration:
ABS Ombre Dress by Allen Schwartz

The dress ended up being a huge hit! Although I feel like I haven't mastered the sleek, straight, flowy-ness of the ABS dress, I'm still 100% satisfied with it!!!
^__^ Thanks for reading! C&C welcome!
