as far as the Cricut goes, in order to cut some of the thicker stuff like cardboard, magnet sheets, and...I can't think of what it's called now...anyways, for a lot of the thicker, heavier stuff, you need to buy the deep cut blade housing and blades.  the one the machine comes with is for thinner stuff.

and what are you using to cut squares??  I can't find squares in any of the cartridges I have.  that's why I grabbed a square punch.

I used the plantin schoolbook that came wit my cricut. The blade that came with it has cut everything i threw at it without a problem. I used the multicut feature set on blade 3 on pressure 4 and speed 2 for canvas paper. For cardboard it needs to be blade 5 on pressure 5 speed 1. I have the cricut expression if that helps.

ah.  mine didn't come with that.  Sad

and I have the Expression too.

CHIPBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!  that's what I was trying to think of.  for stuff like chipboard and magnet sheets you need the deep cut blades.

I think mine needs a blade change because it's starting to tear everything.  Sad

if you look at my ATC gallery, you can see some of the things I've made with mine.  I can't remember all of the cards I used it for, but I know I made a bonsai tree from a playing card and a panda bear.  the black on the panda is velvet paper even.  Grin  I love my Cricut.

Envirocraft, that circuit board came out of my old camera that didn't survive a fall. I'm glad I could still put it to good use.
I really wanted to try steampunk...I attempted one inchie, but I can't quite put my finger on what defines it as steampunk in order to successfully make one. Mine just looked like a mottled mess...

Oh okay. Yeah I bought a bundle and it had 4 cartridges in it, a 12x12 mat and the ink things. I'm so in love with it! I think i have the speed set too high for the cardstock paper because it started tearing and it says in the book to try adjusting that before changing blades. I just got it so it shouldn't be the blade. I need a new mat already though.

wow!  that's a nice bundle!

yeah, I've tried adjusting everything but the blade, and I've had it since Christmas so... Wink  pretty sure mine's the blade.  and yeah, I went through one mat pretty fast too.  Cheesy  it's hard not to!  if you look at my ATC gallery (again Wink), I just posted a card I had forgotten about.  on there you'll see a little fan.  it took me 10 tries at least to get that thing cut out.  first it wouldn't cut through the paper.  then it would come unstuck.  then I tried to pull out the middles of one that didn't cut all the way through, and I ripped it.  it almost didn't happen.  but then I found a sticky spot on the mat and got it cut out.  then I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a pack of 2 new mats.  Cheesy

I received my Wisconsin inchies from kartiana and cindibee today.

First up is Kartiana's inchies- I really like the cow and the wire WI. And home is definitely where the Wisconsinite is!!

And Cindibee's inchies- cheese, beer and badgers- too perfect!

Thank you ladies- I really love them all!

Sad  *sigh* After seeing all of the wonderful Wisconsin inchies I am really NOT loving mine.  Having no artistic talent to speak of, all but one of mine are printed images . . . and now I feel like they are very unworthy.

I love them all. Especially the Plusle/Minun Pokemon one. <3 Thank you.

From kartiana:

I love the Snoopy one the most. Nice take on the Beagle theme Cheesy Thank you

From Foxymama:

She gave me a bunch of extras.

My favorites are the Pokeball and the sand textured ones.

What'd you use to make the Pokeball and the beachball? They're awesome.
