I've been spending a lot of time at thrift stores lately and have started buying up all the vintage sheets I could find to make a quilt.

I decided that since the florals are a little larger, I just did some nice basic squares to show off the deisgns. The cost of ALL the fabric of this quilt totaled $8, which in quilting world is pretty amazing.

\

The back, it's just one sheet with a pretty design:

Here are a few close up shots of the blocks:

Old sheets are a polyester/cotton blend (newer sheets are mostly cotton) which gives them a really nice touch of coolness so this is a great quilt for summer!

Thanks for looking!

I always make sure I check out the sheets whenever I'm in a thrift store.  Most of mine end up as curtains, but I LOVE this!

I also really like the way you quilted it.  It adds a nice touch of simplicity and geometry to all those bright flowers.

This Rocks!

Thank you!

I've done a lot of stippling on quilts in the past, wanted to mix it up a little bit!

I really love this quilt, especially that you used old sheets to make it! I can just imagine this would be perfect on a bed in the summer. I also really love how you quilted it.

This is beautiful.  It reminds me of a handmade quilt that I used on a bed I slept in when visiting my grandmother.  I suppose the sheets it was made with would now be considered vintage, too!

This is beautiful! I have started collecting vintage sheets myself for this purpose. Although with the rate I'm finding them, I'll be finished 2020.

I've been sewing with vintage sheets, too! Although, I never thought of doing an entire bed's worth of a quilt. My bedroom is brown, orange and green, and I bet I could find a lot of vintage sheets in those colors! Great idea!

I love this quilt, it's so beautiful. The thrift store is so great. I always use the fabric of sheets, baby bumpers, etc to make stuff.

This is such an inspiration!  (One of these days, I WILL learn to quilt!)  And I totally LOVE your fabrics.  You're a lucky gal to have such a fabulous thrift store!  My thrift stores never have much in the way of vintage sheets.... Sad  Thanks for sharing this inspiring, summery, awesome quilt!

I LOVE those vintage sheets. I never thought of making a quilt with them but now it seems so obvious. Well done! I may have to steal this idea...

I love everything about this quilt! The vintage patterns, the quilting, the backing sheet.  Love it all!

And, gotta say, your etsy shop is so cute!  <3

I love the way that you laid out the fabrics and different patterns.  Looks very light and summery.  I agree with the others that the way you quilted it is very nice to go with the florals, it doesn't overpower them.  The back sheet is perfect, too.   I am an old linen junkie, so I am all over this!  Grin
