I have a bunch of yarn thread that a customer from work gave me, but Im not sure how to use yarn thread.  Does anybody have any decent beginners patterns for yarn thread... any ideas?

Use it like you would any other yarn. Using crochet thread doesn't limit you to thread crochet patterns. If you have the skills and the patience, give Amigurumi a try - when made with thin yarn they really come out amazing.
