oatmeal on soap help

so i made oatmeal soap, and the soap turned out great, but i decided it would be awesome if there was a scrubby oatmeal side to the soap, and so thought that would be done by pouring raw oats into my mold and then pouring the hot soap onto it and letting it set- which just made squishy oatmeal on my soap.
how do i fix this or do i just have to cut it off?
what should i have done?

Hmm, you might want to cut it off, or at least part of it. Did you grind it first? I always finely grind the oatmeal I put inside my soap, and if I want a little bit of decoration will put a very tiny amount of whole oats on top.

Like MareMare suggested, grind your oats.  and make sure you don't use Quick Oats.  Use the Old Fashion kind!

the oat meal that went inside was ground, and it was old fashioned, it was just the "pretty" stuff on the outside that didnt turn out.
i've cut this soap and let itsit for a while now, it looks filmy on the outside, and has curled. any suggestions for this?

the filmy is probably soda ash.  if the soap has curled, you probably used too much liquid in the soap.  This used to be called the 'shrunken head' syndrome.

Sorry to open this post up again, I didn't want to start a new thread for it.

I made some soap about 3 days ago and mixed some oats into it, not realising they had to be ground first.... I've now got LOADS of squidgy caramel coloured blobs in my soap 

Will these blobs dry out as the soap cures? Or does the whole batch need to be thrown out?

Can't say if the blobs will ever dry out, but that doesn't mean you need to throw the soap away.

Grate the soap down and rebatch it or use the shreds in another soap.

It was a rebatch, can I do it again?

It was a rebatch?  Wow!  How did you rebatch it?  Oven? Microwave? Crock pot?

Did you use an FO in your re-batch?  What type of oats did you use?  Did you use honey?

Yes, it can be rebatched again.  You shouldn't have to add any additional liquid in it.
