I made these monograms for my husband and myself (Joseph and Alyssa)!  I would love to frame them in something like this (http://www.flickr.com/photos/alyssakai/3963145142) but can't seem to find a similar frame for a reasonable price.  If anyone has any ides, please let me know!  I'd love to put them on/above our bedside tables

I put them in wooden hoops (I haven't cut the excess fabric, just tucked it behind), but since we're moving in a few weeks I didn't want to put new holes in the wall to hang them.  So they're folded again and sitting around waiting for a frame!

Really easy--just a lot of french knots.  I didn't anticipate that they would look like tiny roses but love that!

I made the "c" for an art swap with a friend.  It's mounted on a canvas.

One more embroidery:

The phrase doesn't really make sense, I know!  I made this for my best friend Lauren.  Nearly years ago we were at a neighboring school warming up for a band competition, and "Spring is here, so clean it up!  It's almost the end of the year!" was written on a chalkboard.  We've said this every spring since!  The lettering looked much cuter before I stitched it!

I COMPLETELY ripped this design off of someone!  I had the photo saved on my computer but sadly didn't bookmark the link (I'm sure I found it either here or on Flickr).  Please let me know if you have an idea of where I got this from!

The grass is DMC 94, a variegated green.

adorable! I love french knots. I was just thinking that my living room needed some texture as everything is so shiny and new since I just moved and now I think a french knotted piece would be just lovely. Of course your french knots are far more beautiful than anything I can get from my needle, but that's okay!

And regarding framing- I purchased a medium oval frame at Michaels, normally $20 but on sale for $10. You coud very easily run a gold leaf pen along the inside edge to give it that extra character. That was the cheapest oval frame I could find after searching high and low for months. Thrift stores are also a good place to look, but neat vintage frames are a hot commodity these days and tend to fly off their dusty shelves.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip!  I'm not looking for the exact frame--just something thick and oval.  I live in Italy right now but will be moving home to Texas soon so can hopefully find something there.  There aren't many craft stores here, and the few I've found are really expensive!
It seems everyone has problems finding oval frames.  I guess I'm just going to have to keep my eyes peeled for them

Beautiful! I love the color variation in the monograms. It's very 3D with the french knots and I would love to hang this on my wall!

Gorgeous! I love the color blends.  I think you are underpricing yourself with the Etsy shop.  Look at similar size embroidered pieces for pricing ideas.

I love it! What a great thing to do with french knots. I don't think I'd have the patience Smiley

I did a tree just like that a while back too, I bet we stole the idea from the same person but I couldn't remember who it was either. Oh well!
