I love poofy pockets. I think they're cute. And they hold lots of stuff. Wink
And I love kitties. They are cute. I don't have to think it. Tongue
So I made a kitty pocket skirt!

I had a ton of this fabric. I got a big bolt of it at a thrift store for $1.75. And I used black bias tape that my dad bought for something and never used. And the waistband and bottom band are both made of scrap fabric(the colors aren't exactly the same. shhhh!)! So this was a pretty cheap skirt. Cheesy
Here I'm trying to look like a model:

And showing off my kitties:

I love it. Smiley I just need to find(or make!) some shirts to go with it.

And a closer picture of the kitty pocket:

Woooooop! I made a tutorial! Smiley

First you want to draw a pattern. Just half a kitty head. Or whatever shape you want.

Like that.

Then cut two of them out. You'll want them to look kind of abnormally wide so they can be poofier. So it will look something like this:

Now you put the face on it! I like to put the faces on before I sew anything just because it's way easier. I knit a little pink triangle for the nose. Cheesy I also embroidered a mouth on this one.

Then do a basting stitch between the ears and again on the bottom like in the picture.
Now you will gather those until it is at your desired poofiness. Then get your bias tape and start pinning around the entire head, making sure to gather at the top and bottom.
Like these: Cheesy

Now sew the bias tape on and get a really poofy pocket like this:

Without the messy threads everywhere.
Now you can sew it onto a skirt or whatever you want. Smiley
If anything is unclear or you have any questions, just ask me. I'd love to see if you make kitty pockets. Wink

Very cute. Kitty <3 FTW.
Makes me think of Halloween (I guess because of the colors).
Question, what is that black button for? Like does the button the waist? Just curious.  Smiley
