Will definitely do a close up of the necklace tonight - it's great!

As a previous pseudo-Austinite (I lived in San Marcos and my now-husband was in a band in Austin), I very much approve of that package. Heck yeah, Chuy's!

I have rec'd my first package from my new friend onyxnox!
To save space I am just going to post some highlights from my awesome package!
First-- Goodies!! Homemade Almond Roca! She even supplied the recipe! Super yummy! She loves to cook!

For the summertime essential she sent a cooling scarf. It has gel in it that expands when it's soaked in water. You put it around your neck to cool yourself down. This will get a lot of use this summer! It has a Batman print. She is a superhero fan!

A beautiful bag with a favorite pattern and representing part of her Asian heritage.

Three wonderful beaded snowflake ornaments. So pretty. Will look fab on the Christmas Tree this year! One of her favorite crafts is beading and Christmas is a special holiday for her.

A really pretty, soft and airy scarf! LOVE scarfs! She does too!

And my fave- A wooden box with transferred pictures and words to a favorite Leonard Cohen song of hers. He is Canadian just like her. I love Leonard too!

She also sent a great scapbook with pics of her family (incl her doggies) and friends. It was really special and nice of her to share it with me!
This is only a few of the great things she sent and just a very short description of her items. She sent a great letter telling me about herself and her items. I am having a great time learning about my new friend!
Thanks again Bonnie!

I'm glad it got there safely for you, and I loved making what I did (I wish I made that scarf, I love the dying job they did on it!).  I especially loved the Leonard box and actually made a similar tray for myself too.  Though now as I am thinking about it, I think I would like to change it and make one of his pics central and circle the lyrics around his face....

Here is another pic of the box - I really like it.  It is one of my first attempts at image transference, and I stained it, clearcoated it, lined the inside with a Chinese rice paper from a store in one of my favourite shopping areas (Kensington Market/Chinatown), and lined the bottom with felt to not nick surfaces.  It was tempting to not even send it!

What wonderful packages so far! Those almond bars look delicious! And I love the look of the Cohen box. My partner also loves Leonard Cohen, so I just got my first listen of him a couple weeks back and boy does he have a deep voice, I likes it!

Nostephot did a great job on her package, too Smiley I really like the fleur de lis notecards and that notebook! So pretty!

The Cohen box, the scarf and the ornaments - all really great items!
I've updated my package #1 post to include a close up of that necklace.  I wore it this weekend and got many compliments on it!
The pics don't do justice to the notebook or the matching pouch.  The fabric is this really textured fabric with a sheen that is so pretty!
