wellllllll....maybe we could work on a few potholders & if they aren't what a partner wants, we could save them as an extra in another swap? Great practice you know Smiley

Me too Jennie! I might have to make a few for myself while I wait ... just to practice Wink
It'll work out well. I'll mail off the recipes for the Recipe Swap on Tues and on Wed or Thurs I will have a partner for this swap and I can get crafting!

I already did!  The picture of the potholder at the top of our thread was a practice one for myself, because I needed a picture for the thread.  I just dug through the fabrics in my stash and pulled out some batting scraps.  I love the way it looks, but it's not heat resistant enough.  I used a couple layers of cotton batting, but I think I need to go get some Insul-brite.  Any of you who will be sewing yours may wish to pick some up too!  I've heard that a few layers of batting AND some layers of denim is good enough, but I'm not sure I'd trust it, and I'd feel terrible if someone ever burned themselves with my potholders.  I think I'll end up making pot holders for all my family members this Christmas with the extra Insul-brite...  Hmmm, maybe I should start those this summer....

Okay, I'm in!

Yay!  I love when my evil peer pressure tactics pay off.  Whahahahahahahaha....

I'm still thinking about this, mostly because at my quilt guild meeting last month we were taught a really cool potholder technique, plus we got free samples of Insul-brite!
