I have two dogs and two cats that love to lay on my quilts so I decided to make them their own bed!

Each color is it's own fabric, I sewed squares together, stacked them and then did a crazy cut to sew back together. I love how it turned out, I like the stained glass effect.

I stuffed it with my husbands old t-shirts so it smells like their Dad! It also weighs it down nicely so they can't drag it around the house. (Why they love to drag stuff is beyond me!)

Here's a semi-action shot of my dog Rosie:

Thanks for looking!  Grin

That's so awesome! Lucky dog!
Is Rosie a shih tzu? My shih tzu loves to unzip his bed and pull out the insides. I even have to sew the zipper shut!

I love this bed. Maybe some day I will get around to making something like this for my pup.

My shih tzu does the same thing to her bed through the holes in her crate. Crazy girl.

Yep! And here's a pic of her brother Frankie:

Very cool!  I would love to make a dog bed but for the reasons listed above I'm afraid it wouldn't last long between our 2 dogs!  I wonder if it is a shih-tzu thing to unzip and unstuff?  Yoshi (profile pic) does that with our couch pillows and it drives me crazy!  Our other dog would probably just chew it up.

But hopefully yours will let it stick around and fully enjoy it!

Love the green piping!

I want to make a quilt bed for my Chauncey, but he is only a year old and still biting and chewing on dog beds.

We tried the method of putting old clothes in a dog bed container, but that just made him want to eat the insides more!  Smiley

This is so fantastic! I love the colors and the crazy design. I really like the contrast of the bright fabrics with the darker blue polka dots and bright green piping. Perfection!!

I would so love to make something like this for my hounds but I'm afraid it wouldn't last longer than an afternoon. Plus, making one for a 160 lb great dane is basically the same as making a queen sized bed Smiley.

Frankie's snagle tooth is adorable. I want to kiss his face!!
