Let's see your sewing machine!!

I finally got my machine back from the repair shop.
It's a Brother Festival 451.
He was waiting for a new cam to come in, but I decided to
take it home until he gets it. So, I can only sew straight for
now. The good news is that it sews perfectly! I'm totally
inept with sewing machines, but I haven't run into any
problems. Here it is all cleaned up and set up!

shes unusual in the the bobbin winds inside the bobbin case, instead of on top of the machine which is super convenient, it also sews thru 7 layers of denim!

My Mom's machine is the same way and I LOVE IT!  I have no idea why they quit making them that way.  It's so much more convient to wind the bobbin that way.

Sewing machine repair guy just called today and my Elna is all fixed!! So happy. I think I will make something special with her tonight to commemorate her return.

Thanks! She's purring like a kitten, well she should be for $95. The repair guy said "that was alot of work. I don't think I'd do it again". But hopefully he won't have to for a long time. Now I don't know if I should return the Kenmore or keep it in the closet as an emergency spare or something? I need to take that plastic POS off of Miss Elna's cabinet.

i just got a new brother 6000t, for my birthday/ christmas gift from my boyfriend. I am amazed at all the decorative stiches it makes, and the buttonholes.... and how easily it runs, barely needs me there at all.
its computerized and everything is incredibly easy and well layed out. When i change the sitch,(by number no less) it tells me eactly which foot to use and i can adjust the size effortless and eactly.
Also, it has a very simply bobbin wounder, automatich needle threader, a button that will put my needle in the correct possition for treading.... super easy and wonderful.
i very new to sewing but this kicks the pants off my crappy Riccar

i cant vouch for longevity though, i just got it this morning.

I use a Necchi 535 FA.. it's from the 70s. It's nice because it has all metal parts.

I just bought a Necchi at the thrift store about a month ago. I know that it sews, but I haven't actually made anything with it yet. They are so HEAVY!

I've never heard of Necchi.  Is it a good brand?
