here s my sweet baby, my boyfriend offered me old bernina from 70s before i sewed on a recent brother a friend borrowed me, it is really the same! It has a quiet and nice sound, its solid and its in a furniture where i can have quietly all my mess

I love this!  I really have a thing for old Berninas, they are so nice to use.  Yours looks a lot like mine, except mine (a 600) is from 1961 and is a free arm machine.

Mine is misbehaving now though, tension issues that I can't seem to sort out, I think I'm going to have to take it to get it fixed 

oh I really hope you can fix it , I must admit that I cross my fingers for not having soon problems , I religiously keep it clean and oiled, because with our machines fixing can be expensive if there is a piece to change, so good luck for fixing it! I cross my fingers for you

My grandmother gave it to my mum, who passed it down to me. All I know is its an old Janome.

Its such good fun seeing what everyone is sewing on. 
I have a two old machines given to me and I would really like to know more about them. I have tried all the usual places including vintage sites but had no luck. Is there any one here who knows about them?

The top one is a Singer 15 that has been painted orange. It looks like the serial number has been removed/painted over. =) I just got a Singer 15 at a garage sale and am trying to fix her up myself!

Okay so I don't have a picture of my machine so I just went onto the website and grabbed one. I have a Husquvarna Viking platinum 775.

It is a huskystar C20. I'm really impressed with my sister, she hated sewing until I started to do it and now she goes flying away with pillowcases!

My sewing machine is pretty basic one I got for like, eighty dollars at Sears. The basicness is alright for the minimal amount of sewing I do, and the fact I'm still a sewing newbie.

This little treasure here is an oldy but a goody. It's a Singer 404. I'm pretty sure it 's birth year is 1960. It only sews a straight stitch, but it's pretty industrial. It'll go right through anything. I'm pretty sure I could probably sew diamonds on cement. This machine is pretty bad ass.

I just picked up a Singer Starlet tonight which I've wanted for ages!



Sorry the photo isn't great, the lighting is poor.  There is a little bit of damage to the paintwork but I don't care, I love it, and apart from that it's in great condition.  It has all its original attachments and the manual.  The girl I bought it from wanted it for the same reason I do - she liked the flowers!  But she never got the hang of sewing and wanted it to go to a good home.  It's the same as a Singer Genie, and it's a 354 which means I get the 'new' stretch stitch 

Here's a bonus Bernina 600 photo.  If my house burned down, this is the first thing I'd save (not that I can carry it very far).

Oh, it's neat to see what everyone is sewing one, wow!!! 

I just recently got a new machine, I still haven't used all the bells and whistles on it yet, ha! But, I sure do love it!!!


It's a Brother Quilt Club 1000 and it came with all kinds of goodies, even a table to go around so I can do some quilting!!!  Can't wait to try my hand at that!

And, yes, I quickly moved the magnetic pin holder away from it as soon I realized it was sitting there, YIKES!!!!

These are my two babies.

My very first machine that I purchased, a White something or other. Just had her tuned up so she's in awsome working order (& very clean).



My second machine & the one I use the most, my Viking Prelude 360. I love this thing! We are great together & grumpy together. She gets me. 


By the way, this is a great thread. It's fun seeing what everyone is creating on.
