I decided to make a poppet for my cousin that recently lost her mom (and grand-mother 2 month after that, the very same way her mom died).

I was going to make a random blue fairy, when another cousin that was home when I was attaching the legs said it looked like a Na'vi...Of course!

I lost contact with that cousin, but I've grew up with her, and I'm 110% SURE she adored the movie Avatar. So I went for it! Here's Neytiri!

She's stuffed with polyfill upcycled from teddies. Her body is blue felt, and I've painted the pattern and "lights".

Her cloths are some kind of a fake leather I had.
The face is done with acrylic paint.

The feather in her hairs is I believe from a roster, the beads are wooden and her bracelets are various glass & acrylic beads.
Her hairs are chenille.

She's a tad more carveous than the regular Na'vi!
Her necklace (made with feather in the movie...) is done with I think sea shell sticks which give a close enough effect Smiley

I'm still thinking of a way to make a spear or a... you know those things that throws arrows? (LOL at my french not wanting to translate tonight! >_<)
I would have made her googles but I have no acetate on hands Sad

thanks for looking!
if you have any comment to improve her, I'm open, as She's not given yet! Cheesy

edit to say: Aww! thanks for the features Cheesy it's my first one! And thanks for all the nice comments! The Googles are comming!

C'est magnifique! I think it's beautiful, and my boyfriend says I should make one, too! I love her ears Cheesy

Do you mean a bow, or an atlatl that throws spears?

For her goggles, you can cut a piece out of a big coke bottle.

I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

I totally thought of making an Avatar way back when the movie posters were first coming out, but I just never got around to it...
But she looks really great!
I think that your cousin is really lucky to receive her
