Me and 'the boy' first got together just before Christmas 2011, so last time the festive season rolled around I was still very much trying to play it cool. Here we are a year later and this time round I felt like I was in a position to embrace my inner crafty nerd and make him something revoltingly lovey dovey to go with his Christmas present (which was actually tickets to go see the Book of Mormon - I am so freaking excited ^.^).

Anyway - slightly vom inducing back story: Its a bit of a running joke that I tell him that he is ginger (hes really got kind of sandy blonde coloured hair, but its far more fun to wind him up and pretend its orange) and he only ever calls me some kind of variation of 'shorty' (read: short-stuff, tiny-short, shortybum ..you get the idea)

So I present to you - Ginger cake, and Short bread
(its not lame, its like totally adorable - trust me Wink )

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year Smiley

Super cute!
I always threaten my hubby with food nick-names, like pumpkin-butter-gooey-cakes.  (real recipe--look it up!)
And I'm curious what those tickets are for--is it a musical?

I have boxes of vintage piano music.  Some as old as 1890's!  PM me if you'd like some!
