I just made some felt food for the first time. The finished product was a real hit with both of my kids, and I not-so-secretly really love it as well. Get ready for a lot of photos!
Of the multitude of choices available, I narrowed the selection down to a day's worth of meals. There are many sources of felt food instruction and inspiration on the Interweb, but the two that I referred to the most are here
(see the links in the sidebar) and here
For breakfast we have some pancakes with syrup and butter:
Or perhaps some French toast:
Or maybe you just fancy some eggs sunny side up?
Lunch offers a choice between a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich:
Or a meat-and-cheese variety with all the fixin's:
Throw in some fruit snacks for a sweet treat:
For dinner, choose from a variety of pasta choices with our finest marinara sauce.
Or the ever-popular ravioli:
And if you've eaten a good dinner, then please enjoy some sugar cookies bedecked with icing and sprinkles:
The bulk of the cutting and machine sewing was done over two evenings, and a few more evenings saw the remainder of the hand sewing needed for the finer details. (There are more photos on my flickr
page.) This stuff is so easy and quick to make, and so much fun to boot, that I'm pretty sure I'll find myself making more as the inspiration strikes.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I've gotten quite hungry and am off to find a snack....
