I decided to go with Simplicity 4581 and the red flowery fabric.  I'm in the middle of cuttung the fabric right now, and decided to take a break.

I made a muslin, and it fit good, so I'm hoping that I don't manage to goof anything up now that i'm using real fabric.   Shocked

wow, i'm impressed that you made a muslin! as in the whole dress!? i think i'm too impatient for that. maybe if i was making something really fancy/expensive like a wedding dress.

Yeah, for the whole dress.  I'm getting tired of making things just to have them not fit when i'm done.

It really didn't take all that long.  I think it took longer to cut it then it did to sew it all together.  Also, it's not like you're doing anything fancy with a muslin, you don't have to hem it or make sure that the zipper is in perfect.  Basically, I just machine baste the whole thing just to see where there may be some fitting problems.

Well, this is how mine turned out.  It's about the third completed project i've done.

The top is a little tight, but it's still wearable.  I will probably make this pattern again, it was REALLY simple.

Sorry about the oversized picture ( I really gotta work on that).  Plus, i'm standing at a weird angle, sorry about that too! lol

That looks great Sadi - I love the material you used.  Glad to hear it was simple - I've still not started mine yet!  I'm just nervous about having to make modifications to mine for the bust area, and I really should get around to making a muslin for it soon!  Damn work needing me full time - leaves no time for sewing!

As an easy tip you can baste your zipper with just some regular scotch tape on top.. sew on top if it and rip it right out... so easy and great.
