It's been a while since I've had anything to post on the clothing board, I've had this vest hanging out in my craft room for a while....the buttonholes...well they scared me! The last time I tried to use my buttonhole attachment (which was also the 1st time) it ATE my fabric...granted I wasn't real attached to that fabric, but still!
So my vest has been sitting on my dressform looking pretty and mocking me. Until the other day I decided to conquer that buttonhole monster! And I did!!

So now I can show off my awesome fuzzy vest! Its made out of velveteen (which is WAAAAY easier than working with velvet!) which I got off of the clearance rack!!

The buttons are actually silver and the actual color of the fabric is best shown in the first 2 pictures.

Wow! its definetly time for a haircut!

I used Simplicity 2556 which is part of the project runway collection. The pattern had lots of nice options and I will very likely be making a few more in different styles

Thanks for looking!

I love the color too! I wonder if a vest like this would make my bosom look bigger (I'm totally flat-chested)...hmmm...too bad I can't sew more than a throw pillow Smiley

This looks amazing! I was recently thinking of making something similar myself, and you just boosted my motivation 100%.

Very neatly made and you look fabulous in it! =D

Yeah, buttonholes scare me too! I love the vest, it fits you very well. I guess I need to figure out how to do buttonholes on my new sewing machine. Thanks for sharing this with us!

So cool, I love the color! I've been thinking about doing my own vest, but never got around it yet. Maybe this will push me to do it. Smiley
