my husband had his birthday on 20 April.  I asked him in advance what type of cake he wanted and he kept saying he wanted a meat cake (by which he actually meant a cake made of meat)...I decided an actual meat cake might not go over too well so I made this cake in the shape of a steak instead.  I used the red velvet cake recipe from smittenkitchen.com and frosted it with a cream cheese frosting - delicious!  At least one of the children attending the party were scared to try my raw steak cake Smiley

wow, you are awesome! im bookmarking this because my brother is definitely a carnivore (i swear he only eats steak and has to have it at every meal) which is hilarious because we are twins and i hate meat! so if you dont mind, definitely stealing your idea for our birthday Tongue ill make him a steak, and me...a...uh..i dont know. maybe a broccoli floret or something, haha.
