I got some small pieces of Japanese fabric from a craft show and really wanted to put them into something wearable. I loved how it turned out so much that I made two! Even though I'm really pleased with the fit and look of the bodices I will probably not use this kind of pattern very often in the future. So many pieces! Shocked

I'm not game to wear the yellow/purple one without a coat over it. The red and black will be getting a lot of wear.

Some close ups of the super cute fabric.

Action shot at the casino with my brother drinking lychee cocktails. My brother is pretty awesome and bought me a dressform for my birthday  Cheesy

Did I mention it's really comfortable to wear too? Perfect for a game of pool at the pub  Wink

Thanks for looking!

I love the style.
Could you tell us where you got the pattern from?

Very cute! And very flattering on you too!

Is this the type of thing where the top and bottoms are connected? I always wondered if those would be comfortable/practical--what if you want to wear the top with a different skirt?

Thanks for the compliments  Smiley

This is the pattern I used. It's from 1991. I have a really weird collection of patterns from when I bought out the inventory of a store that was closing down. I picked this one because I liked the sweetheart neckline and princess seam construction but for the skirt bit I just made stuff up as I went along.

They are attached, yeah. I probably prefer dresses to skirts and tops because I feel like it's less hassle and I don't have to worry about picking out a whole outfit  Grin

Thank you, yeah I wasn't too keen to have something that poofy and short. Not a good look for me I think  Tongue

These are super cute! But, why won't you wear the purple and yellow without a coat? I would understand if they were garish lakers gold and all, but the pallet is quite nice Cheesy
