My Brother XL 3750 is having tension problems.  The manual says that if loops are on the top the tension is too tight and if loops are on the bottom it is too loose. I have tried every tension setting on the dial but nothing seems to help.  I asked a lady at Joanns about it and she suggest my bobbin tension was off but my machine doesn't seem to have that adjustment.  I am temped to take the machine back to the store (if I can find the receipt!).  It also has a knocking sound when I sew more than 2 layers of fabric.  I bought this machine because I was having problems with my other Brother.  I am about ready to be done with Brothers all together!  HELP!

I have a few articles on my blog that will help you wrap your head around what is going on and figure out how to solve it.    For one thing, your machine DOES have an adjustment for the bobbin tension. They all do.

It's most likely not a problem with the machine, but just something simple like not having the thread seated properly, etc...
