April, that's a great little snippet of steampunk essence. I especially like the mechanical/functional aspect of the steampunk style like steampunk'd/mechanical animals/bugs (even though I'm normally freaked out by most bugs). I really like these rings they capture what I'm trying to say perfectly.
Super cool rings.  They remind me of the Matrix a bit

Thank you Krafty_Karasu and darkangelwingz for the Firemountaingem note. (I was hoping they were already on their way. Tongue)

April again - great info about steampunk! Thanks!

Seraphina_de_Sangre - wow, that ring is wild. It kind of freaks me out with the lobster claws and the eye.

Those rings are so cool! I've always wanted a ring with a creepy eye like that. It's little claws are adorable haha  Cheesy

and that information about steampunk was very helpful. It reminded me of a few things I had been wanting to use for this swap but forgot about haha. Thanks!

I love the robot ring. I have another design by the person who makes those. Lovely works and if you catch a sale, it's even better. A friend and I picked up a ring each for half price (they were doing a buy one, get one free deal).

Ring I bought can be found here!

Ladies, I love how talkative you all are! I have completely stopped thinking about steampunk charms for now, as sad as that sounds. (I am hosting. That implies a certain obligation to focus.)

I just need to finish up my other two swaps, due on June 4 so that I can turn my attention to this. I haven't even started working on the Dr Who swap! And then there is my summer class, which is harder than any of the other online classes I have taken. But I am superwoman, so I know I pull this all off.

And very, very soon it will be time to work on partners again! We are so close to being full!

So last night, inspired by all of you ladies, I went on a bit on an internet quest to explore some more pieces of Steampunk Jewlery to use as inspiration.  I found my way to a neat blog by a jewelry designer named Jen Hilton.  From there I found several other fun sites.  I've saved lots of images as inspiration, and filled my wist with oh about a million more things!  I thought you guys might like seeing this stuff too...

Jen Hilton (Note, in her post about being featured in the Steampunk Jewelery book, she links to many of the other designers featured in it, and that's where I found many of these fabulous links.)

Jen Hilton's "About Steampunk"

Onamentea, which sells some awesome supplies, including watch parts, and neat jump rings, filigree, etc.:

Earthenwood Studio, who has fabulous clay (NOT POLYCLAY) steampunk items, like beads, charms, and pendants
http://www.earthenwoodstudio.com/

Saints & Sinners, Barbe Saint John, which is mostly stuff for sale, but is all beautiful
http://www.barbesaintjohn.com/store/

MadArt Jewelry on Etsy, who seems to specialize in brass goggles & steampunk jewelry

The Pink Hare, who seems to be an all around interesting artist, and who has lots of fun steampunky feels to her projects.

The Pink Hare's "Simple Steampunk Jewelry Tutorial", where she makes lockets, imbedded with gears and resin:

OK..so I didn't post this before because 1).  I was not sure of the Kosher-ness of posting in this kind of format. 2.)I'm not sure if I'm fond of it or not...but one must be brave about such things..so here goes...

sorry it's so fuzzy.  This is the best shot I got for some reason I'm too tired to discern now.  I think the problem is that I should have looked harder for the bag or a zillion computer screws my hub has some where..instead of working with the 3 I found easily.  One of the 3 had really short threads.  I used the longer one 'cause they matched...but they made the head look weird I think.  My Fimo seemed really too soft as well...thus the droopy wings.  Truth be told...he kinda creeps me out...which is a good thing LOL

WHAT?! Why the heck are you scared?! This is beautiful! D::
Now I'm even more worried about what i'll be able to produce..

I love that it's made out of Seraphinite! Awesome ring, I'm totally jealous.

Jennie!  Kiss I can't wait to check out all these sites. I love ornamentea, I keep having to drag myself away from it.
