I'm really thinking about joining but worried about my lack of jewelery/charm crafting. I'm currently researching before I join so I don't get in over my head. Have till the end of the month to decide.
Anyone have advice for a novice in both creating charms and steampunk? Thanks!!

I am a novice too so I am researching and hope I get it right..I see lots of examples so I am in the playing stage...nice to stretch my wings a little , I tend to get stuck and afraid to experiment so stretching has been my watch word (Hahaha WATCH...see what I did there  Tongue ) for 2010 Smiley

It's nice to know that I'm not alone in being new to steampunk and/or charm making. As I see more examples on the interweb I'm falling more in love with steampunk. And I like this swap because it is a size I can handle.

This is so exciting. It's my first Craftster swap. I'm going to be so nervous until all my packages reach their destinations. I'm one of those people that always think the worst of even a good situation lol  Roll Eyes

Oh, I use E6000 to adhere my parts too. Works good but it is a bit messy...do not get it on anything you do not want it to stick to!!! I just got a bunch of old,old wind up clocks and parts from a flea market sale. The old guy selling them was asking me what I do with them as he had someone previously buy some from him who was "making some kind of art" with them. I laughed and said yep that what I am going to do with them....I could not let them pass by as you do not find those too often and I did end up slicing my finger open taking them apart. They definately do not make things like they use too. The materials not a days are so much softer and easier to bust up. These are heavy duty. Lots of cool goodies to use!!!

I have been enjoying WELDBOND.  DOesn't smell for one.  Nice and thick so it holds well while it dries.  It seems to be cheep too.

Thanks for the ideas on the items to be used!
Is there a favorite adhesive in this medium?
