Does anyone know how/where I can find cogs, gears and steampunk-esc trinkets for crafting? I've craigslisted various things, but not too much luck.. Anyone have any websites/tips?

Etsy is a great resource for this kind of thing.

I bought mine on etsy then discovered it was too thin to cast in sterling silver.  So I am looking for other uses.

Find a local watch repair shop and ask him if you can have some of his broken/mismatched/shitty repair parts. they'll usually give them to you for free.

I got my stuff from Etsy, you could also try charity shops- ask if they've got any broken watches or jewellery, they can't sell them so they'd only go in the bin otherwise.

The only signature he needed was my fist. With a pen in it. That I was signing with.

The manto fev website usually has watch parts, and odd trinkets too. Gears, possibly a bicycle repair shop? I have good luck getting cheap clocks and watches at goodwill, ect. sometimes. Perhaps ask on Freecycle? Someone gave me a bag of broken jewelry once...

I got a tube of one ounce of pieces from Fire Mountain Gems..it is a fairly new thing that they have (though the majority of my pieces I got from smashing and prying apart old watches Smiley )

I found some on eBay for pretty cheap. Otherwise, yeah, broken watches are good. Plus it's really fun to pry them apart!  Grin
