I am new to this site and I am allergic to sewing machines Smiley I am getting married on the beach in August on a non existant budget. I love the infinity dress that was done here

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=245247.0

I have read all of the tutorial stuff and every other comment I can find so that I can try to make this dress. The only thing that is still greek to me is the "sew from the inside" waistband thing. I have some other fabric that I am going to try for a mock up, But I could really use some help. Please have mercy on the bride to be Tongue
Thanks

If you look at the photograph where she's showing the sewing machine in action, you can sort of see what she means.  Basically, you pin everything together so that the right side of the skirt is facing the right sides of both the straps and the waistband, and then stitch them all together.  You're making a sandwich, kind of, and "from the inside" means that you should see the wrong sides of everything, if you look at both sides of your sandwich.  So that when you flip the straps and the waistband up, you have finished sides and edges out all the way around.

I have made several infinity dresses and it's really simple.

Basically this is how I pin it.

Take the skirt piece and flip it inside out

Take the folded waist piece and pin it to the inside of the skirt right sides together

now take the straps and pin those to the under side of the waist band (I take the pins out of the 3 layers of fabric and pop the same pin back in but now over 4 layers of fabric but too many pins never hurt anyone) Now as you are holding it and looking at your fabric layers you are looking at the inside of the skirt with a waistband sandwiched between the straps.

Sorry it took so long to get back here.  crazy is not even close to how its been and I totally spaced this topic. I did make the dress and it turned out great. I didn't really use the right type of fabric, so I probably wont wear it again, but it was awesome. Thanks for the help. I really appriciate it. I think I might try and make another one the right way. Smiley Thanks again
