So I bought a lovely dressform as a Christmas present for myself, but I've been so busy for the last 4 months that I haven't had any time at all to actually use it Sad  On a recent trip to the fabric shop to pick up supplies for the dancing costumes that are giving my sewing machine nightmares (another story!) I saw some satin that I just loved the colour of, and thought it would do nicely for a nightie I'd had in mind for a while.  After drafting the pattern and putting it together I was desperately trying to fit it to myself when i remembered about the dressform, which was unfortunately at my Mum's.  So off I went up the road to fetch Jemima.  It doesn't fit quite right around the boobs - I think I need to stuff Jemima's bra a bit more - and the big bow isn't great when I roll over, but on the whole I'm pretty happy with it and I didn't stick myself with a pin or have to get my BF to help me check the fit Cheesy

Thanks guys Smiley

@solsticecusp - I tried using a rolled hem foot on my machine first, but as usual it didn't work very well.  In the end I did a narrow double turn up and stitched over it.  It looks ok from a distance just don't examine it up close!

What a nice nighty! The bow is super cute, but I agree, probably not great to sleep on.

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

Thanks everyone.  I'm really rather proud of it (especially the hem!), and my BF quite likes it too Smiley   Luckily I sleep on my front (my Mum worried I would suffocate myself when I was little!) so the bow hasn't been too big an issue, but I have rolled over a couple of times and woken myself up with it.  If I make a similar one in the future I think I'll do the back another way.
