Elephant Stuffie -First pattern ever sewn!

I'm so excited about this little elephant! This is the first sewing pattern I've ever used! My mom came over on Mother's Day to teach me how to use a sewing pattern since all I've ever done with sewing is just have at it, or use tutorials, which is still a lot of fun... But I definatley wanted to get a little bit of skillage in pattern use. The first pic is her stuffed with fabric scraps, which did not work out too well. I couldn't get into her nook and cranies. So I washed and tore apart an old pillow when I got home from work tonight and restuffed her.

I made her using Simplicity Pattern 2613

I used a floral print I've had kicking it in my craft dungeon forever that I had absolutely no idea what to do with.

I gave her to dd as soon as I was done, and she called he beautiful.   made mommy blush! I'm lucky she's only 2, so she didn't see all the imperfections!

Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun making it, and the only part of the pattern I really had a problem with was the dart stitch. I'm still not even entirely sure what it was, but in my head I kind've have it as the butt stitch.

Just look as darts as a way to make straight things fit curvy things like a boob or a butt...in your case, probably the head had to be made round!
