Whoa, this is seriously awesome! And you are so clever for figuring it out, looking at the finished product makes my brain hurt but after you broke it down it is definitely do-able! Thanks!

I was holding this in my hands trying to figure out what was in the middle of the rings when I opened opened your post. Sorry for the bad scan but I just had to share...so weird!  Shocked

I'm so glad you figured this out I just love the look of them....but I wasn't too crazy about the colors of the one I bought at the thrift store. The colors on yours are a great inspiration.  Now I can make my own in any color I want!  Thanks!  Grin

Sweet!!  How about cutting flat circles out of plastic lid? Smiley So going to have to make these.

For non-drinkers, I bet you can find them around convenient stores that sell beer by the can.  Ask the clerk for some. Smiley

Ooh, I just thought that if you attached a bunch of these finished trivets end to end they'd make a really cool table runner!

FREAKING AWESOME! I need to make a ton of these in different colors! This would be great for tea parties, i have a glass coffee table we all sit around and it would be perfect to set hot tea pots on! Grin
