I made this scarf for round 9 of the Firefly Swap. (Jayne: "Do you know what the chain of command is?...")

It's based on a pattern from Knitty (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTmarleysghost.html), and is made up of multiple links knit in the round, using the magic loop method. The coins were attached with the loose ends before the relevant loop was "finished".

Not too bad, actually, once you get the hang of it. Also, because of each loop is the same, it's easy to get into the swing of things - I knit most of it in different uni classes.

Super cool! It's a great looking scarf, especially for warm weather and I love the reference!

I've heard it both ways.

I'm looking to swap some knit &/or crocheted crafts for handmade CP/HP soap.

I saw this for the swap (swap gallery stalking = my favorite procrastination technique) and thought it was very clever then, but I missed the coins! Are they just added in randomly?

Yes, indeed! They are tied on with the ends of each loop. (Then I "finished" the ends.)
