whoa--so lovely!  What type of brush do you use for blending?  I can't quite get how you can blend and yet all the colors stand out from each other so well!! I know if  I tried it, it would look like I had harsh lines...

I admit that I never even knew about primer...maybe that is why eyeshadow does not last on me...thanks for the tips and the tute...you are so edgy with make up yet not gaudy at all!!

when you lay a color next to another one use a fluffy brush and baaarely touch your lid. Lightly blur just the line between the colors. the powders will do the work if you finesse it. In this case, I wanted the colors to fade outwards so I just put my brush on the edge of the color and lightly swept it outwards a little at a time.

This is so gorgeous.  I must show my daughter, who does all her friend's makeup and will be attending beauty school.  She has this awesome super pigmented eye shadow set from ebay that came from overseas and would be perfect for this.  I know she'll be intrigued and have to try this.

Thanks for the inspiration teapotdnky! When I did my make up to go out tonight I decided to try rainbowing my eyes with what I have... dont have yellow but I have gold, close enough! I more used the purple to line under my eyes and I didnt go unto my upper lid as its not really my style... I like to just darken the crease of my lids and put a gentle shimmer on my upper lids.

I found it hard to blend colours when so many are used individually on one lid! Also found it hard to get good proportions.. Practice makes perfect I guess?

I think you did a very nice job!  It is a bit more subtle and subdued but very lovely on you!

Oh I love your pics donnevita! You did a great job! That is a super great gold! What pink did you use? I've on the lookout for some decent pinks. I really like how you did the purple. It's nice and soft! As my hair fades colors I like to soften up my makeup but I've never done the purple like that. I'm doing that today to see how it looks!

as for blending this many colors, since I do it most days, I don't get all fancy with the blending. I mostly just put each color right next to it, finish the whole look mascara and all, then take a clean dome brush and run it very lightly over the lids before I leave.
My colors also blend well because I'm building my makeup collection. You'll find that certain textures don't like to blend with others so the ones I picked for this look I also picked because they blend well. It's mostly trial and error. Use what you have and be fab!

Hehe its like a circle of inspiration! The pink that I have is MAC its called Post Haste, most of my eyeshadows are either MAC or Napeloen mostly because I dont mind spending a little more money if I get strong long lasting colours! I like the gold I have but Ive always wanted a gold that looks like real gold.

I love your hair... You make purple hair look almost natural!
