Since seeing a project posted on craftster I really wanted my own pair. I bought a roll of sequins on ebay and then it took about 4 months to find the right pair of shoes..but I did and this is the result!
 sorry crappy cell-phone pix.

modelled by my daughter

this was the original shoe, I cut off the centre bar and had to trim some of the bits of leather on the toe

in progress

and the clever fix my daughter made to feed out the sequins..

they were dead easy to make, just hot glue and lots and lots of sequins and no glue burns!! they are not perfect up close, but they look perfect enough for me!

just a tip, buy a roll of sequins on ebay much much much cheaper than buying the stuff by the yard. Took me ages to find the right kind of shoes though. I love this shape, the sequins and the way I placed them emphasises the toes so they have a a very 50s vibe

thanks amazing...they are actually very easy, just a little time consuming. The great thing of course is that being shoes they dont have to be absolutely perfect..no-one will be crawling on the floor to look at them!

they weren't purple, the colour in that pic may be a little off, they were grey...! purple would have been harder to cut up!

I reckon they would as the sequin strips are pretty stable, so they would take a bit of punishment.

belladune, these were cheap ones from a budget shoe store, but to be honest I wouldn't really recommend that as comfy is better!

Yeah... I suppose comfort is a big factor.  But then again, I don't really have anywhere to wear shoes like this anyway, so they'd be more to have ruby slippers then to wear Wink
