In the yarnies VS sewists swap, my partner coryjo, along with the great stuff she crocheted for me, sent me a heap of FQ and pieces of fabric.  I made this thread catcher/pin cushion combo out of the pinks and browns.  At the moment, the thread scraps go in a pile on the table,  and then they somehow end up on the floor...  The pins are usually in a container, but I spill them.  Problem solved.  Please excuse the tip that is my dining table. I have about 2 hundy sewing projects on the go at the moment  Cheesy

As you can see, I couldn't wait to start using it, and it is already full of thread scraps.

Thanks for looking

I keep telling myself I need to make one of those handy little bags ....but for now the dog is working just fine as my thread catcher. hahaha.

That looks great. Is the pincushion weighted with something?

Yep, it is weighted, with some sinkers I pinched from the shed while hubby was mowing the lawn. Shhhh.   Grin  But you could use anything, some pebbles, a piece of wood, a sand bag in the middle of the filling.  I didn't have any of those other things.  Well I had the wood but that would have involved getting out the saw and cutting it then cleaning up my mess.  So sinkers it is.
