What an awesome idea!  And this will make me start making more things so I have them to pass out at Christmastime!

I made this little snake thing and was going to "drop it" for The Toy Society, but my friend's son came over and loved it so much, that I had to send it home with him.

I guess I am a day late, but here is my post. I recently made this fox and geese board game for a swap.

I have a couple I made for myself years ago, nine man's morris, fox and geese, and a preprinted backgammon and checkers boards. Board games are timeless and for every age. I am hoping to get into puppet making again and have plans to make a viking doll. I also need to make a gnome for the gnomes garden shed I made.
 I have made one poppet, but prefer rag dolls. I am curious how that will  translate into a viking. Unfortunately, this month is swamped so it may be a while for another post.

And for those of you who wish to participate, you don't need to wait for me.  If you have something to post next Tuesday, put it up.  The heading should look like this:
"Toybox Tuesday, MM/DD/YY (insert the date there)"

That way we can keep track of how often we actually get this posted.  We want to make it a weekly affair, but if I'm out of town, I may not be able to jump in and start the thread.

Ysmeine - that gameboard is beautiful! Did you embroider all of that? The peacock-ish looking feathers are GOREGEOUS.

Your little gnome garden shed is adorable. You definitely need to get a little gnome to work in there.

Home made wooden board games rock. I remember my grandfather's peg board games and I also remember loving them!
He also drilled out holes in a grid and gave me painted bits to make patterns. I loved that toy!

Embroidered board games are a brilliant idea. It's even washable. I think I might give that a go. Snakes and ladders maybe?

There is a version of snakes and ladders that i want to try. I prefer medieval games, but others are fun. I did embroider the board, they are supposed to be phoenix feathers. This one has a matching wooden box and shell pieces. My others have pouches that hold the board and playing pieces. easier to travel.
