Here's a stitching I made for my boyfriend when he had to go back home to Germany.

EDIT: I figured I should probably give you some details.

It's the final frame of this xkcd strip. I stitched onto a scrap of white polycotton with blue embroidery floss. It was my first attempt at embroidering something other than cross stitch.

Love this!  Having done the long distance relationship at one time or another, I can only agree wholeheartedly (and it looks pretty good, too)!

Oh wow, that basically sums up the two deployments my husband just finished & how I felt some nights when I really really needed a hug or just a shoulder to cry on after a long day. The best he could do was type sentiments or tell me he loved me over skype, but it's never enough is it? Awesome job on the stitching...I really love it!

* megziewoodles hugs for everyone who also misses real hugs.

I hope you all get real hugs soon. Mine will be in September.

Thanks for the compliments. I learned why you need an embroidery hoop and that you shouldn't tape the paper with the design onto the back of the fabric and stitch through it. It's pretty relaxing.

I saw the comic and instantly knew how Randall (the artist) felt. It describes how I feel better than I could with words.
