My Signature Recycled Bag

I just finished up my first official designer purse made from recycled vcr tape. The bag was crocheted using two strands of vcr tape held together using a N crochet hook. I then lined it and put a magnetic closure inside and a button outside on the flap.

Wow! I've seen these done before but never this well done!!  It looks very smooth and WONDERFUL!  Any tips for crocheting with vcr tape?  I have a bunch that I'd be willing to rip apart!

I always use 2 strands held together as it adds strength to your work. Don't pull too hard as you crochet as it's hard on your hands as the vcr tape doesn't give much and tends to break if you pull it too much. I have a tute here that shows how to get the tapes out and use it as yarn. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2007/06/03/how-to-use-vcr-vhs-tape-as-yarn/
