Making Fiends!

 There are these amazing flash cartoons at makingfiends.com and I really want to make some stuffed fiends from that site. Sadly I have no idea how to make a pattern or anything about sewing too much other than how to sew a straight line, really. If anyone could give me a tip or a good site that could help, I would beyond appreciate it. Thank you so much!

oh tee hee...i didn't think that anyone else knew about that site! *ahem* anyway down to buisness... I suggest using newspaper for making a pattern, just draw it out and then use felt for the actual pieces! its fool proof!

 Ah, genius. The newspaper idea is great. The other problem is that I can't conceptualize how I would make a 2-D thing a 3-D thing. I imagine many a trial and error with the newspaper. Thank you again!

Oh wow!!! I just checked out makingfiends!! Did anybody put that link in the "Links" section? Also, phoebe0506, I hope if you figure out how to make some fiends that you'll post pictures...I would love to see them or make some fiends for myself!

 I'm sorry it's been so long sonce I wrote back. Indie, I will definitely be posting poictures, In fact I just got a digital camera so I could do so. So far all I'vw done is made the patterns and cut them out for one of my fiends. The other one is going to be way more difficult, so I'm naturally putting it off. The camera will be in tomorrow, but I'm in Atlanta until Sunday so there won't be progress pictures until at least then.

 Good news! The digital camera is in and tomorrow there will be some pictures. Well, at least the steps that are finished... which isn't many.  Anyway, anyone interested in making a fiend, well, actually my first one is Buttons, so making a friend, will shortly know how, or at least know how I did it. Now I must get to work on my English paper... I hate college!

Hm. This thread is pretty dead... well, I think I need to revive it. Have you made the fiends yet? I love that site... I thought no one knew about it. I searched for it here on Craftster because I wanted to see if anyone made any stuffed veggies or the giant kittie or something... and wow, I'm shocked that someone actually did!

Actually, the furthest I've gotten with this is cutting out all the pieces and laying them in a neat little pile. My mom every now and again yells at me to do something with all my "crap in the sewing room." Hopefully, you've just given me the kick in the tail I needed to get those things finished. Thanks for reminding me.
