So that's the pattern I need!  I saw this awhile back on the purlbee: http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2009/9/12/mollys-sketchbook-new-jumprope-dress-pattern-from-oliver-s.html   and could only think: "I want that for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EE."  And then I stomped my feet numerous times, but apparently acting childish won't make me fit into a child's pattern.

But here it is.  Thanks.

I think all the bis pattern companies have their own take on the "shirt dress" but the Vogue one is the nicest one I think. It's more detailed than the other ones I've seen. There's three darts on the bust and a yoke on the shoulder. I will make a few more of this style in other prints as this dress works for work and free time. I highly recommend it.

I'm sure you can. Just start with a very simple pattern for an apron or a simple straight skirt and then move on to a f bit more complicated styles. You'll be working on your own wardrobe in no time.

Thanks for putting up the pattern. If I ever make it past the simple stage of bags and purses I might try to make this Wink

Your dress is absolutely adorable! So adorable, in fact, that I went looking for the pattern. I noticed on the envelope that is says "knits only." But you did use a woven right?
